Reinvigorating a luxury brand
The offerings at Moddershall Oaks Country Spa Retreat comprise a range of premium leisure and events facilities including a luxury spa, gourmet restaurant, indoor and outdoor wedding venues and a flexible events venue.
Although Moddershall Oaks were rapidly establishing themselves as a luxury brand—both in the local area and further afield—their website was not reflecting a true image of their luxury proposition. It did not offer avenues for potential customers to engage and connect with the brand in meaningful ways and the various strands of the business were not separated into unique user journeys, which was causing confusion for the customers.
Further to this, the site’s visibility in search engines was not befitting of what was clearly a best-in-class offering in Staffordshire and the surrounding area. This was not helped by the fact that their existing site did not allow them to manage their content effectively.
In order to help separate the various strands of the business from a back-office perspective, we created a number of custom admin areas in the WordPress dashboard as well as inter-linked routes for customer enquiry with advanced reporting tools. We also installed a WordPress ecommerce solution and designed an intuitive conversion user-flow to drive the purchase of products, services and gift vouchers directly through the site.
Furthermore, we installed a range of added value relationship-building features such as live chat, email newsletter signup integration (along with the creation of a branded, responsive email template for subsequent campaigns) and social integration, all allowing for meaningful dialogue and longer-term relationships to be formed with website visitors.
The site launched over 4 years ago and since then we have taken the lead on an ongoing SEO campaign. This work has included on-page and technical optimisation, link earning and outreach campaigns, mobile SEO, local SEO and the creation of blogs, infographics and short films.
Following launch, the website beat all previous records in terms of enquiry volume and revenue.
Our initial pre-launch and post-launch search engine optimisation work doubled the volume of organic visitors clicking through to the website from organic search in only 3 months. Since then, with significant growth in domain authority, visibility in search engines has increased consistently across each key business area, delivering 40% compound average growth in year-on-year organic visitors for 2 consecutive years.
The client’s business has gone from strength-to-strength since the new website launch, allowing for significant investment in facilities to further entrench their positioning as a best-in-class leisure destination and luxury venue.
